When can I arrive to begin setup for my event?

We make it easy for you here at Civic Hall! Please refer to your signed Space Usage Agreement under Event Date(s) and Times to find the timing that your booking begins, wherein you can begin to setup.  Should you find that you need more setup time than you originally booked, please email, and the events team at Civic Hall will work to help in anyway they can!*

*Please Note: Each additional hour of use carries additional fees.

**Please Note: House Management and Cleaning Services are included for Conference Room Bookings during Civic Hall's Open Hours. Should a conference room booking take place outside Civic Hall's Open Hours, House Management and Cleaning fees shall be incurred.

Do you have preferred caterers?

We do! Please contact and we'll be happy to help!

What do I have to do to serve alcohol at my event?

We cannot wait to host your event! Regarding alcohol, should you be okay with solely serving wine, beer or cider, simply ensure the alcohol is being served by a caterer or bartender with the necessary licensing, and provide us a copy of the caterer's liquor license or one-day caterer permit. That's it!*

*Please Note: Civic Hall does not permit the sale of any alcoholic beverage, nor the serving of any alcohol other than wine, beer or cider.

We'd like to livestream -- do you have any recommendations?

Absolutely! Please contact the events team at with your specific needs, and we'll be able to assist.*

*Please Note: Should you wish to livestream your event, the livestreaming professional will need to use the freight for egress. Note details about the freight below.

So...what's the deal with your freight? 

Monday - Friday  (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM), excluding federal holidays

**The freight can be booked outside operational days and hours for an hourly fee. Nights and weekends carry a 4-hour minimum booking.

Civic Hall requires ALL catering, as well as large deliveries, including, but not limited to livestreaming equipment, furniture rentals, video equipment, signage, etc. to enter through our freight entrance, unless written permission provided by an employee of Civic Hall. All caterers, vendors, and video press entering through the freight entrance must provide a certificate of insurance, proof of workman's comp insurance, as well as a signed and notarized hold harmless agreement (For More Information Click Here)

Does Civic Hall have any rules against sticking things to the walls? 

Unfortunately we do. To ensure Civic Hall remains in its pristine conditions for users like yourself, we cannot permit anything but blue painter's tape to be affixed to the walls.*  

Please Note: Usage of blue painter's tape does require written permission by an employee of Civic Hall.

Right. No supergluing things to the walls at Civic Hall. Anything else to avoid?

  • Nails, screws, staples or any penetrating objects on the walls or flooring.
  • Smoking. As are all indoor spaces in New York, we are a non-smoking facility.
  • Objects that burn (i.e. candles, oils, burning fluid, kerosene, cooking with an open flame, chafing dishes, sternos, torches, etc.)
  • Illegal Drugs. We know, we know -- goes without saying, but we are a drug-free facility.
  • Alcohol not classified as wine, beer or cider.
  • Lobby signage -- though have no fear, the doormen are amazing and will be sure your attendees know where to go!

How do I get my event listed on Civic Hall's website?  What about the newsletter?

All you need to do is send the following:

  • How you'd like the event listed on the site (Name of the Event)
  • The Date and Time Frame of the event
  • The link where you'd like attendees to RSVP
  • And a short blurb about the event to entice our community to RSVP!

Once you send the above to our events team, they will be sure to get you up on the site and in the next newsletter!

I want to make my event as successful as possible, any recommendations? 

We want the exact same thing!

Regarding recommendations, we'd say if you're having an event on The Stage, you may want to send us your preferred space setup and run of show sooner rather than later, so we can prep our team to assist in the best way possible. If you're having an event or meeting in one of our conference rooms, you may wish to send us a list of your attendees, and/or if you're having any food delivered, so we can prep the front desk to assist.
